John Barera To Score The Film

World-touring DJ and Producer John Barera has been brought on to score the film. John’s career has sent him all over the world, playing at some of dance music’s most iconic clubs including Fabric (London), Smart Bar (Chicago), and Berghain’s Panorama Bar in Berlin. Today he’s based in NYC, but he came up in Boston where he developed a friendship with Marc. When Barera was a resident DJ at Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge, Marc would be on the dance floor every Thursday at 9PM sharp to see the beginning of his set. For a young up-and-coming DJ, that kind of consistent support meant a lot.

Barera’s connection to Marc, fluency in a variety of musical styles, and excitement for the project makes this partnership a natural fit. This project is important to him and his music will be an essential and cohesive ingredient of the final film. Barera’s score will draw from new and unreleased music, custom-scored compositions as well as previously released.

Barera joins our post-production team, which includes audio engineer Mikey Letourneau of Soundtrack Group and colorist Rob Bessette of Finish Post. Mikey and Rob have been in the industry for years, working on advertising for some of the country’s biggest brands.
